Bottletop, the UK’s dynamic charity supporting health education initiatives world-wide is set to release the first in a series of albums featuring rare world music remixed by leading DJ’s and producers. Funds raised will support Bottletop projects in both Africa and the UK and the first volume, ‘Africa’ has been sponsored by the UK’s leading lifestyle hotel group, Malmaison.
The Sounds Affects Malmaison Campaign unfurling behind the album also includes music related accessories. Hand made in Africa and hand finished in Europe, much of the range is an exciting hybrid of European and African craftsmanship, aimed at promoting African design culture as well as raising funds for Bottletop.
The music, primarily from Ghana and Nigeria, and dating back as early as the 1960s, has been remixed by internationally renowned DJs and producers such as Paul Oakenfold, Adam Freeland and Quantic in the first of a series of multi artist, electronic sound collaborations. Available as a 2 disk set: originals and remixes.
In just two years, Bottletop’s dynamic approach to charity has generated the support of leading recording artists and political figureheads from around the world ranging from Justin Timberlake and Dido to Kofi Annan and Bill Clinton.
Bottletop’s first campaign – in association with British fashion house Mulberry – generated funds in excess of £250,000.
