The seventh and eighth releases on our new 7" re-issue imprint 'Brazil 45s' are in stock now:
A. Os Brazoes - Carolina Carol Bela
AA. Tim Maia - E Necesario
Side A is a psychedelic cover of Jorge Ben's all time classic 'Carolina Carol Bela'. Very little is known about Os Brazoes except that they formed in Rio De Janeiro in 1969 backed Gal Costa during her early 'Tropicalia' years. The front man of the band is Miguel de Deus. This track appears on their self titled LP on RGE in 1969. This track has never been released on 7".
Side B features one of the unique, greats of Brazilian music Tim Maia. Maia was renowned for his iconoclastic, ironic, outspoken, and humorous musical style. E Necessario is taken from his self titled 1977 LP on Som Livre, previously unreleased on 7".
A. Wilson Simonal - Silva Lenheira
AA. Wilson Simonal - Zazueira
Wilson Simonal de Castro was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1939. He was a hugely successful artist throughout the 1960s and 70s, during which time he recorded 20 albums.
Here he covers two Jorge Ben penned songs - 'Silva Lenheira' and 'Zazueira'. They appear on from 'Allegria! Allegria! Volume 2' and 'Allegria! Allegria! Volume 3' respectively. Both previously unreleased on 7".
