Originally a dig from the legend himself DJ Shadow, The Bongo crew first encountered The Jazz Minstrels' 'Poopin' The Sloop' when it was played by DJ / record collector Michael Barnes in Los Angeles. Michael had picked up 'Party' at the DJ Shadow Rappcats pop-up and was keen to know if we had heard it before. It was new to us, however, we are now super happy to be able to offer deadstock copies of this mysterious gem from 1980.
The records were sealed but we have opened to check the vinyl. Head over to Michael's Melting Points blog for a great review/lowdown and sound clips of this record.
